Aidan Hyde

Industrial Design Manager

As the Industrial Design Manager at Archimedic, Aidan ensures that the devices developed meet and surpass the end user’s ergonomic, usability and aesthetic requirements.

At Archimedic, Aidan’s responsibilities range from refining the details of a design to coordinating the collaborative efforts of specialized designers and engineers to bring products quickly and effectively to market; a process that starts with user research and product definition continuing through concept iteration, prototyping, validation and finishing with manufacturing.

Some of his most notable projects include the ZSX laparoscopic suturing device, an at home self-diagnostic patient monitor for Basil Leaf Technologies, an Intra-aortic balloon pump for MAQUET and contributing as the lead industrial designer to the artificial womb project for the Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia (CHOP).

Prior to joining Archimedic (then Smithwise), Aidan held industrial design positions at several local and international medical device corporations including Mindray North America, Maquet Cardiac Assist and Datascope Corp.

Aidan graduated from the Rochester Institute of Technology with a BFA in Industrial Design.
