As President and CEO of Archimedic, Eric focuses on organizational development, new business development, and strategic initiatives. Eric also works closely with companies to define the product development strategies that will achieve their long-term objectives.

Eric started his career as a design engineer focusing on minimally invasive surgical devices and handheld diagnostic systems. He expanded his technical role as a program manager leading multi-disciplinary teams in the research, development, and manufacturing of patient warming devices and novel imaging technologies.

In 2009 Eric founded Smithwise in Boston to provide medical device innovators with the expertise needed to commercialize novel technologies. He grew the technical and management team opening a second office in the Philadelphia in 2013. In 2019, Eric merged Smithwise with Catapult and rebranded the combined company as Archimedic.

Eric holds a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from the University of Colorado, Boulder and an M.B.A. from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Eric frequently provides workshops for academic hospitals and universities on the process of medical device development.
